Event Details

The most extensive mural, a 33-meter-long wall painting along Masarykova Street, was created by Swedish comic artist Anna Ehrlemark between 9 and 13 March 2020, with the help of painter Miha Pernet. Imaging could not be completed by the scheduled time, as cases of coronavirus infections had already begun to spread. The two scenes left unfinished, completed by Perne with the help of Anna’s sketches.

The huge mural “Divje stvari” (“Wild Things”) is an outstanding artistic intervention between posters and other visual images located along Masarykova cesta in Ljubljana. It entered the public space prophetically, but at the same time unencumbered. Despite the pessimistic predictions, the author wants to embrace an optimistic faith and will in the future, because, looking at all 9 scenes, we are overwhelmed by playful and happy thoughts. The author’s story is about the optimistic post-apocalyptic future of today’s children.

The basis for the mural does not come from the artist’s comic book album, but is the basis for printing the original graphics, which will be released in the form of an art album before the end of the year in Gothenburg, Sweden.

? Anna Ehrlemark is a comic book author, illustrator and linguist.
